JUNIOR SECTION

Young members are very important for the development of our club and showing in general. Future handlers of champion dogs and championship show judges will start here.
At our ringcraft sessions and match nights you will gain experience of handling. Points are awarded each month in the junior handling competition leading to a Junior Handler of the Year being crowned at our Xmas Club Night.

Most shows have junior handling competitions as well as the normal classes. We have 2 classes at our Open Show in July that are Richmond qualifiers. You can end up qualifying for Crufts.
However you don't need to win competions to go to Crufts. You can go free if under 8 and Young Kennel Club (YKC) members can go free for all 4 days. The YKC ring at Crufts if holding competitions in handling, obedience and heelwork to music. 
The YKC hold many other activities throughout the year to help junior members learns new skills, build confidence and make new friends. There is a summer camp and also activity weekends. If you wish to learn more go to the link below.
